If you love Opera, Symphony, Ballet, you must love Teatro alla Scala and now there is
a new Hotel to love, called Milano Scala.
The project by Cibic&Partners is located in the Brera area, in the center of Milan, a few steps from the world famous theatre. An existing building, from the end of XIX century, was renovated creating 62 rooms, each different from the other but all with the common theme of Opera lirica. You can have meals at the restaurant "La Traviata" and choose the bedroom suite "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" or the Suite "Carmen", the Suite "La Boheme" or another favorite subject, all bedrooms will have some blown up images related to La Scala performances. a new Hotel to love, called Milano Scala.

Not much privacy here though...
I love the use of the "Rosso Scala" color as an accent and for the luxurious drapes, the same color used for the velvet chairs in the theatre.

Finally a beautiful terrace to enjoy a break, drink a Rabarbaro Zucca and look at the
360 degrees view of Milan, weather permitting, of course.

I'm not much of an Opera lover but I'd really love to stay in that gorgeous hotel! And the fact that it is environment-friendly.
To be honest, I've never been to the opera or symphony. When I was a kid, my parents brought me to see The Nutcracker. That was a long time ago, but I have faint memories of how the stage looked and the ballerinas.
Milano Scala looks and sounds like a fantastic hotel. The large murals in the rooms are cool, and it's great that the hotel is so environmentally responsible. And love those chandeliers in the lobby!!

Patrice Munsel's son was in my grade growing up, so I grew up with her soprano voice singing away to us in school. I was afraid of her, until she sang. What a beautiful place for birds of a feather to congregate. I'm waiting for someone to make a Grateful Dead hotel, that would be really wild!

My husband brought opera into my life. One of my favorite images of him: Four months before law school, my husband toured Europe with a buddy. The buddy didn't like opera, but agreed to go with my husband to the Vienna Opera House. When they got there they were told it jackets were required. My husband is 6'5" with a 39" sleeve. Seeing my husband's great disappointment, the usher loaned him HIS jacket. The usher was a short man. The sleeves came to just under my husband's elbows. Didn't matter. My usually shy husband was in rapture.
I love all three, Opera, symphony and the ballet. Verdi's Aida has a special place with me because it was the very first opera I ever attended when I was a student at the university and had to usher to get to see the performances without a fee. Have for years purchased season's tickets for the symphony and have enjoyed works of varied composers, Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Chaikofski, etc., etc., Fondness for ballet goes a long way back to my childhood.
Although this hotel has a very interesting concept and well fitted to its proximity to the opera, I would find it hard to sleep with three rows of audiences looking down at me.
I would love to stay here!! So very chic.
I saw Bocelli at la Scala for the first time years ago...probably decades at this point. I'll never forget it!
Wow stunning. Sometimes large graphics on walls can look a little over done and inappropriate, but they really work well in these spaces.
I too have not been to the opera. (Shame on me). I worry that if it's not in English, I'll have no idea what's going on.
What a lovely place to stay...the stadium room is a bit weird...
I haven't seen much Opera, but did see Measha Brueggergosman at the Chan center a couple of years ago...really moving.
this not an hotel,it's a masterpiece,thank to show me,tomorrow i'll go to drink something there.I like Opera,my favourite composer is Giuseppe Verdi and my favourites are l'Aida and Nabucco,impossible for everybody dont be excite when you listen the "VĂ Pensiero".
