A gift for you

I would like to thank you all for being loyal readers and supporters of my blog.

As a special thank you I am going to give away one "Mediterraneo" Red Bowl designed by Emma Silvestris for Alessi (diameter is 11.5").
"An eclectic and versatile jewelry designer by trade, Emma Silvestris combines soft, feminine lines, the precision of geometry and classic elegance, as well as the use of ancient symbols, to create seemingly weightless designs".
This opportunity was given to us by All Modern whose motto is "Experience the best in authentic design".
They have a fantastic selection of modern, contemporary furniture and home accessories from many leading designers and carry the best international brands like Kartell, Vitra, Alessi, Moroso, Knoll, Herman Miller and so many more.

To be able to win you must leave a comment with a valid email address (in case you'll be the lucky winner, selected at random from all comments) telling me:

1) how you would be using the bowl

and

2) where you would place it.

The contest will be open until Midnight on Thursday, July 9th and it is only open to residents of Canada and the United States but I will eventually have another contest for all my affectionate readers from other countries, so please stay tuned!

Good Luck!

Buona Fortuna!

The winner will be announced on Saturday, July 11th

Ooooh, the bowl is fabulous!! LOVE the red!!! Red just happens to be the accent colour in our kitchen, so the bowl would definitely go on the kitchen countertop. I love bright green with red, so I'd fill the bowl with limes for a real double-whammy of colour :-)

Thanks Albarosa!!

This is the most unique bowl I have ever laid eyes on! I would definitly place it in our kitchen, the walls are bright orange with a hint of yellow so it would really stand out. To top it off I would fill it with different colorful fruits like bananas and oranges, lemons & limes! Thank you.

I am going to place the bowl on my antique grey buffet with my huge black antique mirror behind it. I think the bowl has such a "cabinet of curiosity" look to it, but it is also so very contemporary. I don't think I will fill it with anything. The bowl will be the star!

Such a beautiful bowl! I would use it in my black & white bedroom, either empty (as a work of art) or with ? I don't know...I'd have to work with it to see what would work visually without detracting from the design of the bowl! I'd love to try!

I am having a Bulthaup kitchen (that I have been working towards for over a year) installed at this very moment. It features a very large island, Zen-like white laminate with stainless seams, and a built-in hidden appliance wall. No hanging or other cabinets! This wonderful piece of art will take center stage on the island. It won't have to do a single thing except serve as sculpture.

What a stunning bowl. The red has so much "push" to it. I am an avid sewer and would love to put some special pieces of cotton fabrics in it. I think with the way it is designed, I would be able to see all of the pieces right near my sewing machine. Gorgeous! Thank you for your blog. The colors give me so much inspiration to create.

Wow how generous of you Albarosa!
I'd love the bowl to put on my espresso colored coffee table in my living room. The color looks almost exactly like the painting I have behind my couch, so it would tie in very nicely. I wouldn't put anything in the bowl, as it's interesting enough on its' own. But I might put it on top of a stack of books.

I like its organic aesthetic- the interplay of positive and negative space and then boom ! a jolt of electric red to contradict the soft floaty tendrils. This bowl would travel around my house so often it will collect mileage points, twitter its whereabouts and need its own blog.
bellissima !

A bowl - especially an elegant bowl - is meant to be used, not just treated as a piece of sculpture. Its beauty in use highlights its artistry more than treating as a stagnant object.

So I would use it for attractive servings of salad or fruit: for example, a mixed fruit salad, say with sliced bananas, pineapple, mango and just raspberries to accent the bowl's colour; or a simple butter lettuce salad garnished with raspberries to accent the bowl's colour complimented with the green - or alternatively with half slices of cherries (which deliciously soak up a garlic vinaigrette). I would ask my guests to return to the living room while I clear all the dishes from the prior course and centre the bowl on the near-empty dining room table before inviting the guests to return.

Another way to showcase this bowl in actual use would be to fill it partially with water and float some beautiful but simple red flowers in it. This could be placed again in the centre of a dining room table or coffee table, thus at a height people can directly enjoy it, not just look at it.

Hi Albarosa,
Right now I would use the bowl to collect the black cherries I’m picking off my tree in the back yard. When there are no cherries I would wear it proudly as a hat it is so neat! If one were a more quotidian person and somewhat desperate or with a very limited kitchen one COULD use it to strain spaghetti. I would not attempt to drink out of it, however.
Love,
jamie

Ciao Albarosa,

Loved ! your blog. Makes me want to have a piece (sculpture or painting by one of the Back Gallery Project artists) included in your photos. It's evident you have the eye and the taste of the refined and sophisticated soul you are.
Hasta pronto cara mia,

In actual fact, it would not work anywhere in my house, only because it's not cool enough for this bowl at the current moment. so I would place it in my mothers house on her dining room table :)

Ahhh, back to see that lovely bowl. You are very generous to give it away!

Hi Albarosa,

That is a lovely bowl you are so generously giving away.

We would place the bowl on our dining room table and keep it filled with
fruit.

This probably sounds like a bit of a cliché, but it would make a lovely
centre piece on our kitchen table for all to view and enjoy.

Kind regards
John

What an absolutely lovely bowl!

We'll soon be creating a family room in our basement and I want the sofa to be red... so that means I need beautiful red accent pieces like this bowl! I'm not 100% sure what I'd put in it... something natural and in brown to work with the woods I'll also use in this space.

Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway, Albarosa!! And also... a big thank you for participating in our Rewind Wednesday blog party!!

What a beautiful bowl! Living near the shore on Martha's Vineyard, my cottage has lots of red, white and blues. The bowl would look wonderful on the dinning room table as a center piece. It reminds me of coral. I really enjoy your blog. Keep up the good work Albarosa! Thanks, Pat albeepat@yahoo.com
